How to measure a wall for the calculator
The calculator is a cladding quantity calculator for one wall at a time. It needs three figures.
- Wall width, in metres. Measure along the face of the wall you want clad.
- Wall height, in metres. Measure from where the cladding starts to where it stops.
- Windows and doors, in m². For each opening on that wall, multiply its width by its height, then add the openings together. Leave this box blank if the wall has none.
The calculator multiplies width by height and takes off the windows and doors. If the openings come to more than the wall, it asks you to check the figures. For a building with four clad walls, run it four times and add the results.
What the result includes, and what it does not
It includes the flat area of the wall you measured, in m², less the openings you entered.
It does not include:
- A price. ACP cladding is quoted per job, and the calculator holds no rate per m².
- The panel. Panel type (standard, fire-rated or PVDF-coated), thickness (3mm, 4mm or 6mm) and finish (matte, glossy, metallic or wood grain) are chosen with you for the quotation.
- Other walls. Each wall is a separate calculation.
- The site. Building height and installation complexity change the job, and they are checked at the site inspection.
What happens after you have the area
- Press Request a quotation for this area. The area goes into the enquiry form, and you add the building’s location.
- We reply within the hour, and book a free site inspection.
- You receive a detailed quotation, with a technical drawing if you want one. The panel named in the quotation is the panel we install.
- Before handover, every sealant joint is sprayed with water to confirm none gets behind the cladding. Six months of free maintenance and defects cover are written into the contract.
