If you are buying materials for a site in Nigeria, the risk is that what arrives is not what you were quoted. Our supply orders work the way our installation jobs do: the material, size, grade and quantity go into the quotation, and we supply to it.
What we supply
FRP/GRP products
FRP stands for fibre-reinforced plastic and GRP for glass-reinforced plastic.
- Sectional tank panels: SMC (sheet moulding compound) GRP, 2m × 2m and 1m × 1m, with food-grade resin, the kind used for drinking water, on every tank. Panels are made by established manufacturers in China, South Korea and Malaysia.
- Hardware and accessories: grade 304 or 316 stainless steel bolts and flanges; ballcock assembly, overflow, outlet valve, inlet, vent, manhole cover and ladder.
- Fabricated parts: chemical storage tanks and components such as nozzles, elbows and manways.
- GRP pipes and fittings.
Steel
- Structural sections: beams, channels, angles and hollow sections.
- Reinforcement: rebar and mesh for concrete.
- Sheets and plates.
Specialist industrial materials
Construction materials, industrial equipment, tools and machinery, safety equipment, and electrical and plumbing supplies. The materials we install can also be ordered supply-only: epoxy flooring materials, ACP cladding panels in 3mm, 4mm and 6mm, and waterproofing membranes and coatings.
How an order runs
- Quotation. You send the material, size, grade and quantity, or your drawings; the quotation states each item’s grade and size.
- Sourcing. We buy the order to that specification.
- Import and clearing. Where goods are imported, FortevaWorks clears them at port, and the duty and clearing are in the quotation.
- Delivery. We arrange the haulage to any state in Nigeria, and our crew offloads at your site.
- Handover. Your representative and our supervisor check the delivery against the quotation and sign the delivery note. The delivery note and an itemised packing list are the papers a procurement manager files as evidence for the purchase.
The timeline for your order is set in the quotation; supplier availability and the distance to your site are what move it.
What decides the cost
- The size and complexity of the order.
- The materials and products you need.
- Supplier availability for those materials.
- Import, duty and clearing, where goods come from abroad.
- Delivery, and how far and how easily your site can be reached.
Questions to put to any supplier
- Is the material, size and grade written in the quotation?
- Can I see a sample before I sign?
- Who clears the goods at port, and are duty and clearing in the price?
- Who offloads at site, and who signs off the delivery?
- Who answers if a defect shows up, and under whose warranty?
Who it is for
- Oil and gas facilities: chemical tanks and components, steel, safety equipment and tools.
- Main contractors: waterproofing and epoxy materials, steel, safety equipment and tools for their own sites.
- Estates, developers, factories, hotels and hospitals buying FRP/GRP tank panels and accessories, and government agencies that need a quotation and specification they can file.
