The condition of your concrete
Epoxy is a resin coating laid in layers over concrete, so the slab under it is the first thing we check at a site inspection. Every floor is cleaned, ground and primed before the first layer of epoxy goes down.
Four slab problems add work before coating starts:
- Cracks are filled and repaired.
- Oil-soaked concrete is cleaned or ground back.
- Old coatings are removed.
- Damp slabs are tested and dealt with.
You see each repair on paper in the quotation before you sign, not as an extra once the crew is on site.
Thickness and the traffic the floor carries
We lay epoxy at 2mm, 3mm, 5mm or 10mm. Tell us at the inspection what crosses the floor each day, and we set the thickness from that.
A thicker floor takes more resin, so thickness feeds straight into the cost of materials. Our epoxy materials are made by established manufacturers in China, and the material in your quotation is the material we install.
Floor area and working in sections
Measure the floor in square metres before the inspection if you can, and we check the figure on site.
For a production hall in Agbara or a warehouse in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, laying the floor in sections means one area is closed while the others carry on. The sections and their order are agreed at the site inspection and written into the quotation.
Where your site is also moves the cost. We take jobs across Lagos and Ogun State, including Ota, Igbesa and Sagamu, and in other service areas such as Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano. We mobilise workers to the site when we receive the first advance payment, and the timeline is set in the quotation.
Finish and decorative options
The surface finish is glossy, matte or anti-slip, chosen in the quotation.
On top of the surface finish, we offer metallic, flake and quartz finishes, and custom colours matched to RAL or Pantone references on request. Each option you choose is written into the quotation.
Epoxy floor price per square metre: why we inspect first
A published epoxy floor price per square metre would have to ignore what changes your job: the slab under the coating, the thickness, the area and the finish. Two floors with the same area in square metres can need different slab repair, a different thickness and a different number of sections.
So every quotation starts with a free site inspection. You then receive a detailed quotation, and a technical drawing if you want one.
FortevaWorks has worked on more than 50 epoxy floors for factories in Ogun State.
What cheap quotes leave out
Two epoxy items are easy to miss on a quotation:
- Slab repair. Any repair found at the inspection should be a priced line, not left for later.
- Curing. The epoxy needs curing time to set. Our floors are ready for foot traffic 3 days after the final coat, so plan your site around that.
A lower price with no preparation steps or no curing allowance is a different floor, not a cheaper one.
Before the site inspection
Have these ready when we visit:
- Floor area in square metres, or the length and width of each room.
- What the floor is used for, and what crosses it each day.
- The site location, with the town and state.
- Known slab problems, and where on the floor they are.
- Areas that must keep working while the floor is laid, so we can plan the sections.
- Whether you want a technical drawing with the quotation.
